We enjoyed a little dejeuner sur l'herbe:
Did some coloring:
Played in trees:Twirled batons:
Did cartwheels:
And handstands:
And just hung out on the playground:
We spent almost three hours at the park and by the time we left, the place was packed:On our way home, we made an impromptu visit to L'Arc de Triomphe:
Samantha practicing her "french":
In an attempt to keep us distracted from Kenny's absence, I think I have been running the girls a little ragged. So we opted for a cozy night in, grabbing some bread from our local bakery. I know he doesn't have any ratings in Frommer's or Rick Steves', but I think his is hands down the best baguette I have ever tasted. Check out those irregular air pockets:
It is crispy on the outside and soft, almost buttery on the inside:Unfortunately, this evening we also located a gourmet candy/cookie shop near our bakery that likes to dole out free samples with complete abandon. This will prove problematic on many levels.
After dessert, it was more chill time. Samantha working on her blog, to be published soon:
Eliza playing with Legos and repeating "a toute a l'heure" continuously under her breath, in a very deep, french voice. I think "la culture" is sinking in:
