Today we enjoyed a very lazy morning at home; we finally left the apartment after lunch:
We headed to southeast Paris, to the Bois de Vincennes, a large wooded park with a castle, theater, playground, and botanical gardens, among many other things:We decided to skip the chateau and head to the Parc Floral. On the way, we spotted this fancy car:
Once inside the Parc Foral, we found some water lilies:
And could hardly contain our joy:
Next, we found our way to the massive playground:
You can rent these funky covered bikes to navigate through the park, but we shuddered at the thought of pedaling around in the extreme heat.
And then we were shamed by yet another elderly French person:
We found some cool slides:
And another zipline:
All of a sudden, Eliza collapsed with a terrible back ache and a massive case of drama:
Both miraculously disappeared when we stuffed some ice cream in her mouth:
Next, we discovered the mini-golf course which was both insanely expensive and incredibly underwhelming. I decided to take the lazy mom route and sit under a tent to escape the heat while superhero Kenny played with the girls:
Eliza gave up halfway through and joined me in the tent area while Samantha carried on with intense resolve:
On the way back to the metro, we stopped for some drinks and a large peach melba:
And had a little lovefest:On the way home, the girls got to drive the metro!
After a short rest at home, we decided to picnic on the banks of the Seine. Kenny simply refers to it as "The Urinal."
The girls have picked up some Parisian habits. Most notably, the tendency toward excessive PDA:
I stole the camera from Kenny:
